Vill Vill Vest: Pom Poko / Hajk / Young Dreams   Landmark  Konsert

Perfect Sounds Forever & Øyafestivalen presenterer: Pom Poko + Hajk + Young Dreams Vill Vill Vest fredag 29.sept

Pom Poko from Trondheim describe themselves as Pure Norwegian Punky Sweetness™, the sound of a party with your neighbor Totoro. A punk-attitude mixed with the entire pop-history makes an explosive package often compared with Duchess Says, Deerhoof and Le Tigre. Intense grooves, playful guitars and earworm-tunes you don’t expect makes Pom Poko an intense and unpredictable live performance. The last six months Pom Poko has played fully packed shows in Trondheim Calling, made it to NRK P3s “Urørtfinale”, harvested good reviews from The Line of Best Fit (UK) and NME (UK) and came fifth on Norwegian music industry “Most promising in 2017”-list. Pom Poko release their next single "You'll Be Fine" on September 8th, and have, in their shorter-than-a-year lifespan, played The Great Escape in Brighton, Roskilde, Øya, Slottsfjell and Pstereo, and are now ready for Vill Vill Vest.

Hajk are fronted by Preben Sælid Andersen and Sigrid Aase, who share the vocals, while Johan Nord (drums), Knut Olav Buverud Sandvik (bass) and Einar Næss Haugeth (keys) are the band’s backbone. Musically Hajk are situated in a modern pop/rock landscape, with an emphasis on very strong melodies. This year the band released their debut album, and the clever mix of indie and commercial pop has gone straight to the heart of the listeners and fans. The album got great reviews by international media, the band was playlisted by radio and played several big festivals in Norway.

When Young Dreams from Bergen released their debut album “Between Places” in 2013 it was lauded both at home and internationally. Websites and magazines like Pitchfork, The Guardian, NME, and Interview Magazine all gave the sunny pop music great reviews. The band was also awarded a Norwegian Grammy (Spellemannspris) in for best indie. After three years of silence the band released the single “Of The City” last fall. Now producer and songwriter Matias Tellez and his companions are ready to present their new album at Vill Vill Vest.
