Donna Haraway - Story Telling for Earthly Survival (Dir. Fabrizio Terranova)

A portrait of groundbreaking feminist thinker, author and science historian, Donna Haraway.

Haraway is the author of the revolutionary publications ‘Staying with the Trouble’ and ‘A Cyborg Manifesto’. Her work in science, technology, gender and trans-species relationships over the last four decades is marked by her commitments to feminism, environmentalism, and science fiction to investigate how (and by whom) scientific truths are constructed and presented. Haraway sets out to break down boundaries between humans, animals, technology and machines to challenge the ‘common sense’, normative structures and categories that set the framework for our worldview.

The film is animated by green screen projections, archival materials and interviews, making it an eclectic response to a truly original thinker.

The film is in English.

*”Poekhali!” (Let´s Go!) – a famous take-off phrase by the first man in space Yuri Gagarin, 1961. This year we take off with the first woman in space, Valentina Tereshkova, in 1963. “Hey, sky! Take off your hat, I’m coming!” she shouted as she went into orbit….
